After a short briefing by the guides, we set off across the bay at around 930pm.… read more With the gentle waters, kayaking is not too strenuous for those not experienced in water activities (we were a group of 6 ranging in age from 50+ to 14 and all coped well!). The guides, Yiannis and Rapha, were fantastic and great company for the trip. We visited a hidden blue cave, a couple of remote beaches only accessible by boat which were truly stunning. Nectarines and melons provided for a snack. We returned to the beach about 5 hours later so the whole trip is excellent value for money.

My partner had never kayaked before and was a little nervous but before the trip we had a safety briefing and were feeling confident before we left.
Our guide or ‘fellow traveller’ Argie was absolutely fantastic, as a guide and as a person. We felt in safe hands all the time but also as if we were spending the morning with a friend. The trip itself included a trip to Sivota where we had about half an hour to walk around and two more beach stops, each about half an hour, where fruit and drinks were provided and you could swim. We also kayaked into a cave with a small beach. Due to Covid they don’t bring snorkels to share at the moment but Argie allowed us to use his mask.
Yiannis, the other person we met from Periplous met us in the morning before our trip and also met us on the beach afterwards, both Argie and Yiannis were very professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend having an adventure with Periplous whether you’ve kayaked before or not, or really is suitable for everyone.

The setting up of the kayak and briefing was done with clarity and detailed. His experience showed when he was doing this.

On the water his ability to lead and clearly give instructions to keep the group together and safe was to be commented.

In the blue caves with all that was happening, he was able to command and control the group. This was key for me as it showed experience and leadership. Most inexperienced guide would lost control and their temper.

During lunch both Yiannis prepared pasta and melons. Its a simple yet tasty meal.

For me the biggest take away from the trip is the hospitality both Yiannis brought. I strongly recommend them, as they will give you an experience you will not forget. Especially if you have not done this before.
